Helena's Little Mansion has been restored into a beautiful Helena, MT vacation rental

Helena’s Little Mansion has been restored to it’s former glory along with a few modern amenities.

The interior of this vacation property in Helena is warm and inviting

The new mansion’s interior is cozy and inviting for our guests and their families.

The showcase of our Montana vacation home rental is a beautiful wooden staircase featuring some of the most ornate oak woodwork in Helena, Montana.

Our historic Helena rental has been the home of Montana State Legislators, physicians and early miners who made their fortunes in gold. The Gelbow family lived in the home in the early 1900’s and their land surrounded the area which is now a quiet residential neighborhood. The Gelbow’s were the proprietors of the Red Roof Café just down the street.

Our research on the vacation home indicates that the builder of Helena’s Little Mansion is indeed the same builder who built the locally-famed Broadwater Hot Springs and Resort.

Our home has five bedrooms; the smallest of which has been converted to an exercise room/office. The other four bedrooms, which will sleep 10 very comfortably, all feature custom interiors that make each one unique, and large windows to view the stunning mountain surroundings.

Restoring our Montana vacation property

My sister Betty and I began restoring the vacation home in 2006 with the help of our families and neighbors. Since the home had been used as a long-term rental and had stood vacant for about 6 months, it was quite the undertaking.

One of the first steps that we took was to remove all of the wall-to-wall carpeting that had been installed in the early 1990’s. Underneath was stunning oak hardwood floors that needed to be stripped, sanded and refinished.

We spent the remainder of the year refinishing the entire interior and exterior of the vacation rental, paying special attention to returning comfort and warmth to the historic Helena mansion.

Come enjoy Helena’s Little Mansion

This Montana vacation rental is one of the few remaining remnants of a bygone era of western history. We would be proud to have you as our guest.
